Monkey on His Back

I bought these little backpack harnesses in hopes of being able to let them walk sometimes when I'm out with them by myself & don't want to be afraid of losing one. I tried them a few months ago & neither of them wanted anything to do with them. Fast forward to last week...Connor thinks this monkey is so cool & will bring it to me so he can wear it around the house!

Scarface

Isaac heard that his cousin Bennett is sporting some pretty awesome bumps, bruises & scrapes. So, in trying to keep up, he tripped & landed face first into our wooden TV stand a few days ago. The first picture is minutes after it happened. The second picture is only 3 days later. Healing nicely, I think.

Recent Moments Caught on Video

We just bought some new roller shades for our windows, and since the people at Lowes who trim them to the right width are completely incompetent, Ryan trimmed them himself. So, we had this strip of vinyl shade remnant that the boys were playing with. Daddy & Isaac discovered a new game to play with this "toy", and Connor decided to join in as well.

Aunt Sheri came to visit us about a week ago, and both boys just loved her to death. Isaac snuck into her room behind her one day while she was here & was playing on her bed. She was "snoring" on the bed & Isaac was trying to snore himself. Of course, he was doing it over & over until I got the video camera....Here's a video of them both enjoying time with Sheri.

Me in Mosaic

My friend Holly had this on her blog & I thought it was a cool idea, so here you go.

Concept:
1. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.
2. Using only the first page, pick an image.
3. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd’s mosaic maker.http://www.flickr.com/search/http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/mosaic.php (choose four columns and three rows, also choose individual URL's)
Questions:
1. What is your first name? (Jennifer)
2. What is your favorite food? (Cinnamon Rolls)
3. What school did you go to? (Univ. of Utah - I had to choose one of several)
4. What is your favorite color? (Blue)
5. Who is your celebrity crush? (Matthew McConaughey)
6. Favorite drink? (Milk)
7. Dream vacation? (New Zealand)
8. Favorite dessert? (Brownies)
9. What you want to be when you grow up? (Teacher)
10. What do you love most in life? (Family)
11. One word to describe you. (Boring)
12. Your nickname. (Jenn)

I have to say, some seriously weird, seemingly unrelated, pictures came up for some of my answers.

Scraped Knees

I have no idea how we lasted this long, but the boys both got their first scraped knees this week. Connor tripped in our driveway late last week & scraped one of his knees, then a few days later they both tripped within seconds of each other & got scraped knees.

Connor's double-owie

Isaac's owie

The funniest thing was Isaac's reaction. He didn't really cry when it happened. He didn't even complain when I cleaned it off. He was inconsolable when he was playing on the floor shortly thereafter and he realized that there was something on his knee & he couldn't get it off. He was obsessed with getting that "thing" off of his knee.

We thought maybe we could cover it with a bandaid so he wouldn't be so distressed by it. No sir. He knew it was still under there, so he wanted both the bandaid and the owie off, pronto. It took a good 30 minutes and an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba to distract him & make him forget about his knee.

Go USA!!

This past weekend we went to a 1st birthday party for our friends' little girl. Her birthday just happened to be on the opening day of the Olympics, so they had an Olympic themed party. All of the kids got these little glasses. Connor thinks they are the coolest thing ever.

Reality

Lest you think my children love to give each other hugs and kisses all the time, I have to show you the picture that I took just seconds before the kissing picture.

Isaac wanted to give Connor a hug, but Connor wanted nothing to do with it. Moments later, however, he was more than willing to give Isaac a huge kiss...

Official Diagnosis

I'm quite certain this child is certifiable. We think it might be mad cow disease...

Rooster

Isaac surprised us yesterday by turning into a rooster with no warning. Maybe a bit of a hysterical rooster that says "wock-a-doo" instead of "cock-a-doodle-doo," but who am I to complain?
