Screw Loose?

We think learning all these new words has knocked a screw loose in Isaac's head.

Chase

Apparently it's more fun to chase while you're crawling.

Boo Boo

Connor fell & bonked his forehead today. We have this little gel pack that we keep in the freezer for just such occasions. After I put it on his head a few times he decided he could handle it himself. Who needs moms anyway?

Time for bed

Tonight as I was dressing the boys for bed, Isaac didn't want me to put his jammie shorts on. Since he loves hats, I decided to try them on his head. He liked that idea much better. Connor decided to join in the fun as well.

Is it almost summertime?

The weather here in the Spring can be strange. Early this week we got up to the high 60's during the day. Today it was in the high 90's. We set up a little pool for the boys for everyone's entertainment. They were both very leery of this pool at first, but eventually decided it was loads of fun...

Little nerd

Isaac was playing with a really old pair of my glasses the other day & he decided they looked good on him. What do you think?

Child Labor

Please don't send child protective services to our house...I promise they were doing this by their own free will.

Playmates

The boys play alongside each other all the time, but they are rarely, if ever, actually entertained by each other up to this point. I'm told this doesn't usually start to happen with twins until they are at least 2 years old. I don't know if this was just a fluke, but when I brought out the tunnel today, something clicked & the boys had so much fun together. They played like this for probably 10 minutes!

Monkeys

Do you think they like bananas?

Diaper Days

We had our first diaper removal this week. On this particular day, I put the boys down to nap in t-shirts and diapers. After 45 minutes, Isaac was still not asleep. I poked my head in to check on him. I saw his diaper sitting on the mattress next to him. While he was sitting down, his shirt was covering his nether-region, so the gravity of the situation did not sink in until he stood up. Thank GOODNESS he didn't poop, but there was a huge wet spot on his sheet...

Popper

We've had this little "popcorn" popper toy since before Christmas. Neither of the boys has shown much interest in it until recently. Connor finally figured out that he doesn't need to walk around hitting it on the floor to make the balls pop inside.

Word to your mutha

Since I use this blog as a baby book of sorts, I will ocassionally use it for mundane things like keeping track of milestones. Probably not interesting to most of you, but just indulge me. As of today, these are the words the boys are using consistently (spontaneously, on their own, not just mimicking what I say)

Isaac -
cracker
uh-oh
uh-oh spagettios
oh no
bye bye
daddy
thank you
Go Diego Go (Nickelodeon cartoon)
no
ball

Connor -
cracker
bye bye
mom
daddy

Fever?

The other day I thought Isaac felt a little warm, so I pulled out the ear thermometer. After I checked his temperature I let him hold it for a few minutes. He decided he better double-check to make sure I got an accurate reading.

Isaac points to his nose, ears and mouth now. Connor points to his nose...we're working on the others. It so fun watching them learn!

Shhhhh

After the beach yesterday the boys took a bath to wash off all of the sand. They were getting a bit loud in the tub, so I said, "shhhhh" (I didn't put my finger up to my lips). Connor responded by putting his finger in his mouth & saying, "shhhhh." Oh, and ignore the farting sounds...when Ryan would make farting sounds with his mouth, Connor would do his "shhhhh" to him.

First Beach Trip

A friend invited us to a lunchtime bbq at the beach today for her birthday, so we took the boys to the beach for the first time. The forecast was for a high of 62, so with no intentions of getting in the water, we dressed them in long sleeves and pants, and brought sand toys for them to play with. The toys were interesting for about 10 minutes...then sticks and bits of charcoal that littered the area around the firepit were much more entertaining. We did end up taking them down to the edge of the water to see what they thought...they both wanted to go right in. Of course, in our hurry to leave the house, I didn't bring an extra change of clothes for them. Ryan took their pants off, but they both ended up falling into the water & soaked their shirts. They had to wear their jackets with no shirts for the rest of the afternoon. They didn't seem to care & had a great time. They LOVE the beach...they must take after their Grandpa Leitch.

Wordless Wednesday
