New Shower

In case you didn't already know, I have to tell you how amazing Ryan is. Our master bathroom is a 1971 original. It is smaller than our guest bathroom & only has a stall shower (no tub). The shower that was there when we moved in was pretty old & ugly, but it also had a cracked shower pan. We wanted to replace it with a tile shower, but knew paying someone to do it was not in our budget. So, before Christmas Ryan tore the old shower out so we could get rid of it while we were renting a dumpster for our previous home project (laminate floors). After Christmas, he began the task of building our custom tile shower. First, the shower floor pan. This is an "easy" 23 step process before you even lay any tile. Needless to say, it really tried Ryan's patience....he had never done this before! As of yesterday, the shower walls & floor are done. We ordered custom glass & it will be installed tomorrow. You can see that the ceiling, floor, and adjoining walls are not finished. After a break, we will tear out the rest of the bathroom & completely replace everything.

Too much

The boys wanted to swing for a few minutes after work one day. Guess Connor couldn't handle the excitement.

Fun with Daddy

Oh No

I'm not sure where he learned it, but Isaac has started saying the phrase "oh no." The other day, Connor and I were playing in the living room & Isaac went back to their bedroom. After a few minutes, I realized that it was a little too quiet back there. So, I called back, "Isaac, what are you doing back there?" I was met with a reply of "oh no." I thought he was just being cute, but thought I better check to make sure. I found him sitting on the floor next to a tub of moisturizing cream with the cream covering both of his hands, one of his ears, and a baseball cap that had the misfortune of being within Isaac's reach. I laughed, picked him up & brought him out to the living room to show Ryan. It was at that point that we thought to take pictures...I need to get better at this....a picture of him where I found him would have been even more priceless.

Easter

Whoever thought it was a good idea to try to take Easter pictures of two 15-month-old boys at the park is a MORON. Oh wait, that was me. We don't have good lighting in our house, and we don't have any grass in our yard, so I thought it would be a great idea to take the boys to the park for some cute pictures in their Easter outfits. Bad idea. They just wanted to run & play. How could I deny them that? We really didn't get any good pictures and we didn't get a single picture of the two of them together with them both looking at the camera.

Connor - "Mom, why are you calling my name? I'm trying to run away!"

Isaac - "Why are you torturing me like this?"

They sat like this for a total of 10 miliseconds...then they were off!

Easter baskets. Yes they did get a small amount of candy, but they were only interested in the matchbox cars...until they tasted the mini-M&Ms.

Do you wonder?

If you ever wonder why Isaac is smaller than Connor, here is your reason...

The boys got these lollypops at the pediatrician's office yesterday. Connor sucked on the lollypop end and Isaac sucked on the handle end. At the doctor's office we also found out that Isaac is finally in the 10th percentile for weight!! He has been below the 5th percentile ever since he was born, but at his appointment yesterday, he finally showed us where all that food he eats is going!

Sleeping Beauty

There are few (if any) things in this world more precious than a sleeping baby. I love poking my head in the boys' room just before I turn in for the night. My two little balls of energy turn into the most peaceful little sleeping beauties.

Last night was no different, but instead of that "awwwww" factor, I felt myself overcome by uncontrollable giggles...this is how I found Connor in his bed.

I have absolutely no idea how that binky ended up on his bum, but it made for a pretty fun picture.

I brushed my teeth & prepared for bed, all the while chuckling to myself at the sight I had just beheld. Five minutes later, I was ready for bed, but needed one more quick peek at my little "binky bum boy." This is what I found instead...

He is such a funny little guy & cracks us up all day long. Seems fitting that he should do it in his sleep as well.

Oranges

Yesterday we were given a bucket full of fresh navel oranges (straight from the tree) by some people at church. As Ryan was washing them & setting them on the counter, Connor was trying his hardest to grab one (yes, he can reach things on the kitchen counter now). He was trying to eat it with the peel on, so Ryan peeled it for him & we sat him in his high chair with a whole orange. He went to town on it. Apparently, he likes oranges. Isaac, on the other hand, took one taste & wanted nothing more to do with it.

Roseola

Connor had a moderately high fever on Wed, Thurs, and Fri of this week. It was strange because he didn't have any other symptoms, so I wasn't sure what was wrong. I thought it might be an ear infection, but when he woke up Saturday morning the fever was gone! Then, this morning, he woke up with a rash all over his belly & it looked like it was spreading to his back & neck. Turns out he has Roseola (http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/tc/roseola-topic-overview). He's not at all bothered by the rash, but I hope it goes away quickly!

He thinks I'm funny

Last night, while I was feeding the boys dinner, they were both laughing at something I was saying (it wasn't even something funny, and I can't remember now what I was saying). I kept repeating it & the next thing I knew, Isaac shot milk out of his nose! I laughed so hard, which of course just made him laugh harder. I love this age...they are so fun!!

Bathtime Fun

In my quest to become a better portrait photographer (I'm really VERY much a beginner), I just got a new lens for our camera. Today is the first time I got to play with it using natural light. Here are a few pics from bathtime this morning...

The kid's got moves

I think somehow Connor inherited his Grandpa D's dancing genes...here's a little video montage of some of his recent moves. He is constantly making us laugh.
