First Floaters (sort of)

How we've made it almost 18 months with 2 babies without a single episode of pooping in the bath, I'll never know. As the boys were playing in the bath tonight, I was thinking about how lucky I was to have escaped that pleasure. Of course, that jinxed me.

Connor played in the bath for about 5 minutes then was ready to get out. Isaac played for another 10 minutes or so, then I pulled the plug & let him play until the water was gone. I turned my back for a second, and when I turned my attention back to Isaac, he was on his hands & knees in the tub grunting. Before I could grab him, out it came....into an empty tub. I hollered for Ryan to come back to the bathroom so I could tell him what happened, and I was laughing pretty hard. He did not think it was even a little bit funny. I probably wouldn't have laughed if the tub had still been full of water, especially if Connor was still in there with him. But there was just something humorous about him pooping in an empty tub.

Fun Videos

Here are a few fun videos we've captured over the past several weeks.

Both boys love climbing on Dad.

Isaac loves to torment Connor, but he can occasionally be sweet to him.

Remember Connor's awesome dance moves from a few months ago? Well Isaac now has a few moves of his own.

Connor enjoys playing with his baseball cap...especially when Dad plays too.

Questionable Taste in Music

I have a white noise machine in the boys' room that plays nature sounds to help them sleep at night & block out sounds outside of their room. This contraption also serves as a clock radio. Since I've never used the radio part, I've never tuned it to any particular station, and it just happens to be tuned to a mexican radio station (of which there are MANY).

For the past few days, when I put them down at night, I turn on the white noise to the relaxing sound of ocean waves. When I check on them before I go to bed, I find that sometime between being put to bed and falling alseep Isaac has pushed the button to switch to the radio. That's right, when I walk into their room at night, I feel like I've just crossed the border into Mexico. Now, there are about 10 other buttons he could push on this thing that would produce various other nature sounds, but apparently nothing is as soothing as mexican music....

Maybe he was born to the wrong parents & was supposed to be born a blonde haired, blue eyed, Mexico City baby.

Something Strange

Okay, strange things are happening to my family. Last Friday, my sister hit a PEACOCK with her car that was standing on the freeway in St. George, UT. Very strange. Today, 2 tornadoes hit about 5-10 miles from where we live. Here's a picture of one of them.

Tornadoes in Southern California are extremely rare. So this is a pretty big deal around here. If you're interested, here's a link to a video clip about it.

Finger Painting

I decided to let the boys "finger paint" with chocolate pudding on their high chair trays tonight. Isaac was willing to play with his with a spoon, but did NOT want it on his hands. Connor, on the other hand, started squishing it between his fingers as soon as it hit his tray. He then proceeded to create his work of "art".

First Popsicles

The temperature has been around 105 the past couple of days, so I gave the boys popsicles for the first time earlier this week. They didn't really know what they were supposed to do with them. Isaac seemed to want eat his like corn on the cob while Connor grabbed it with his fist & shoved it in his mouth.

Water Baby

Connor is definitely our water baby. When we went to the beach, he ran right into the ocean. When we set up the pool on the deck, he's the first one in. When I wash their hair, he grins like a fool as I pour a cup full of water over his head. Last night as he lay on the bathroom counter for me to dry him off after his bath, he discovered the spray bottle of water that I left on the counter. He had so much fun spraying himself in the face with it. He would laugh every time. After he got down, I still let him play with it a bit...

Best Friends?

The boys are to a point where they like to play together more & more. They will laugh & chase and it is the cutest thing. At the same time, everything must have its opposite, and their relationship is no different. Isaac is often more dominant when it comes to taking what he wants. He is constantly taking things from Connor & Connor often lets him without so much as a whimper. In turn, I think Connor is learning that he can torment his brother in much more subtle ways. In this video, Isaac gets the table & chair in just the "perfect" spot. When Connor sits down, he looks at Isaac with a taunting, defiant look and moves the table just to make Isaac furious...
